Breweries & distilleries in the Lincolnshire Wolds

There is an array of breweries and distilleries in the Lincolnshire Wolds, producing a wealth of artisanal drinks. Whether you’re enjoying a locally brewed ale or savouring a small-batch gin, every sip tells a story and every drop is a celebration of our county’s rich heritage.

Fast becoming a haven for foodies, the market town of Louth is home to a number of producers.

Creators of the award-winning Pin Gin, Louth Distillery hosts regular tours and tastings. These interactive experiences give you the chance to learn more about the making process, as well as sample the spirits fresh from the still.

Also based in Louth is the family-run Munyard Brewery. Run by a father and son team, this award-winning producer are famed for their craft beers, IPAs and lagers. A must-visit for beer connoisseurs, there is a Taproom on-site, so you can enjoy a pint of the good stuff right where it was made – it doesn’t get fresher than that!

Firehouse Brewery is taking local produce to the next level by utilizing the natural landscape to brew their ales. Described as a pure taste of Lincolnshire, their ales are made with water that has filtered down through the Wolds.

If you want to sample their selection, there’s a fantastic bar on-site. Set up like a traditional old pub, the bar is housed in the former Louth Gas Company offices, a building dating back to 1824. Inside, it boasts the classic 'old' taproom feel, complete with hard benches and a bare wooden floor!

One of the best known craft beer companies in Louth is Luda Brewing Co. Reserve a spot on the Luda Brewery Tour and you can witness the artistry of brewing first hand. Time it right and you might even get to try a refreshing beer directly from the tank.

Alternatively, you can sample Luda’s brews at Tap on the Line. Located in the centre of Louth, this popular bar has over 15 craft beers on draught, including guest beers from other breweries.

If you’re visiting any of the pubs and bars in the Lincolnshire Wolds, keep your eye out for Massingberd-Mundy gin. Crafted on the South Ormsby Estate, just outside Louth, this artisan gin is distilled, bottled, and packed right in the heart of the Wolds. 

Not only are the Massingberd-Mundy gins made using locally sourced botanicals, each flavour is also inspired by a notable figure from local history, adding a unique story to every sip.

While the distillery itself isn't open to the public, you can explore the wider estate. A network of walking trails will take you through the grounds and out into the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds landscape.
