Arts & culture in the Lincolnshire Wolds

If you want to explore arts and culture in the Lincolnshire Wolds, you won't have to look far. Lincolnshire is a vibrant and inspiring county, lending itself to housing many galleries, museums, theatres and creative spaces.

The Wolds is no different, and there are plenty of interesting venues to explore during your visit.

Get crafty!

There are plenty of craft markets and centres across the Wolds for those wanting to restock their haberdashery. If you’d like to get crafty during your stay, you could head to Stitch Witch in Market Rasen to take part in the various workshops on offer. If they don’t coincide with your visit, you can still pop along to their weekly group where you can bring whatever you’re working on and enjoy a natter and cuppa!

A night at the theatre

If you’d like to watch a show during your stay, why not head to Louth Riverhead Theatre. Run by a dedicated team of volunteers, they offer a diverse programme of professional touring productions alongside local plays, musicals and pantomimes. After the show you could head into the town centre to discover why the Hairy Bikers dubbed Louth the ‘food mecca’.

The silver screen

Nestled in the village of Woodhall Spa, just 20 minutes from the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, sits the Kinema In The Woods. This charming cinema has been showing films since 1920s and has retained its old-timey charm. With movie memorabilia adorning its walls and an organ player entertaining guests during the interval, this really is a cultural gem.

Art galleries

Head into the market towns across the Wolds to discover various art centres and galleries showcasing all types of work. During your visit, why not pop into Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre, a stunning former Methodist chapel converted into a well-loved café and exhibition space.
