Fishing in the Lincolnshire Wolds

With its big skies, serene landscapes and gentle valleys, it is easy to see why people enjoy fishing in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Radiating timeless rural charm, sit back, relax and unwind at one of the fishing lakes deep in the Lincolnshire countryside.

Fishing in nature

If you like to fish surrounded by nature, why not take a look at Vain Valley Park, just a 10-minute walk from Horncastle town centre. The park was opened in 2010 to give a new life to an old landfill site and brick pit. Now a thriving pond for wildlife and fishing, it is surrounded by grassy banks and wildflowers, with several viewing points looking across the pond and the trickling River Bain.

Fishing lakes

If established fishing lakes are more suited to you, there are plenty to choose from. Why not head to Wold View Fisheries in Caistor? Here you will find large expanses of calm water with a variety of spots to fish from, including secluded areas nestled amongst native trees.

Sea fishing

The Lincolnshire coast neighbours the Wolds, and there are many great spots to cast out from just a short drive away. With Mablethorpe, Sutton on Sea, Huttoft Beach and Chapel Point all being good spots for producing fish all year round, you will be spoilt for choice!
