Wolds Word Fest
Thursday 3rd July - Saturday 12th July 2025
Experience the fun and delights of WordFest this July in the Lincolnshire Wolds. With a splendid choice of literature-themed events over ten days there is something for everyone.
For children we have a wonderful WordFest Wizzine - come along and meet Mr Inkwell in the Story Garden. Search for the Gruffalo clues in the ice-cream i-spy trail. Hop along to hear Woody Birch Bark’s stories about his woodland friends Hari, Kettle and Ralf.
Interested in women’s hidden history? Learn about Lincolnshire’s feisty Medieval women and the 19th Century women of the North Lincolnshire Wolds who made their mark managing land and estates.
Learn about Bernard Gilbert, Lincolnshire’s ‘forgotten’ poet and writer, ‘the Thomas Hardy of the East’ and many other writers and poets who have been inspired by the Lincolnshire landscape and people.
If music and words are the perfect combination for you then make a date to join Loretta, the doyenne of Lincolnshire Dialect, for some a bit of Linkisheere chitter n’ jabber accompanied with Lincolnshire folk music duo Nige and Teri. We are delighted that the Bookshop Band will be performing at Caistor Town Hall – Pete Townsend is a big fan, so don’t miss out on their visit to Lincolnshire.
If you need a quiet moment to relax then head for one of our ‘bookshop cafés’ and find a quiet corner, leave a review of a book, join one of the silent reading sessions and meet other book-minded people.
A note about tickets: Most events are free but the Bookshop Band is ticketed. Some events must be booked in advance so that we can manage numbers – please see the booking link on Eventbrite on the event listing. (The Eventbrite page links are West Lindsey Events and Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre.)
